Dr. Ann G. Samsell

Dr. Ann G. Samsell

Dr. Ann Samsell grew up in West Virginia helping her biologist father take care of orphaned and injured wildlife. In the second grade, she set her sights on becoming a veterinarian. She completed her undergraduate work at W.V.U., and received her D.V.M. from The Ohio State University in 1972. Having worked in many aspects of veterinary medicine, Dr. Samsell created CatCare,Ltd. in 1998 so that she could focus on one of her primary interests, feline medicine and surgery, especially geriatrics. Ann lives in the country with 4 cats, 2 dogs, 2 turtles and 2 humans, and enjoys canoeing and photography in her spare time.

Dr. Patricia Shea

Dr. Patricia Shea

When she was 5 years old, Dr. Patricia Shea, growing up in the New York city suburbs, told her teacher and her mother that she wanted to go to"cat school".
Already a cat lover, it was only after working in the fields of journalism and the arts, that she really did go to cat school (and dog school and horse school and cow school). She graduated with honors from Oregon State School of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. She said that she" --loved it all, but cats were still my favorite". She completed an internship in small animal medicine, surgery and radiology at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. In 2007, she completed training in small animal acupuncture at the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Shea welcomes acupuncture patients as well as medical patients to CatCare, where she practices integrative feline medicine. She has been part of the CatCare team since 2006.
She continues to make beautiful artwork in her spare time and lives in Eugene with her two rescued cats, Lila and MeiMei.
