We have partnered with veterinary surgeons, internal medicine specialists, radiologists, ophthalmologists, oncologists, cardiologists and neurologists who can review and assist us with more difficult cases. Many of these specialists come to Companion Animal Hospital to provide their specialized services, which allows us to provide our patients with the highest standards in veterinary medical care.
Craig Ritchie, DVM
Dr. Ritchie graduated from Ohio State University where he received his B.S and D.V.M.. He joined Companion in 1994 as the hospital director, and purchased the hospital from Dr. Gary Ade in August 2006.
His areas of special interest as a veterinarian include ophthalmology and internal medicine. He currently has three pets; “Sir Clage” is his grey tabby, and was adopted as a rescue patient after having his broken leg repaired. “Billie” is Sir Clage’s kitty friend who chases him around the house, and “Keara” his Border Collie, who joins him on his daily adventures at work.
Dr. Anne-Gigi Chan
Dr. Chan was born and raised in Hong Kong, but the travel bug took her to California, London, and Vancouver, B.C. before landing in the Seattle area. She graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London, England in 1999, and moved to Vancouver B.C. soon afterwards. After spending four years working in a small animal practice in Vancouver, she moved to the Eastside in 2003. During her free time you will find her rowing with the Sammamish Crew, reading, traveling, kayaking, walking her dog at a local dog park, or carving down the mountain (preferably Whistler-Blackcomb!) on her snowboard. Anne-Gi lives on the Eastside with her husband Dan and their dog, “Gander” a black lab and "Gimli" a yellow lab.
Bonnie Goldthwaite, DVM
Dr. Goldthwaite was born in Baltimore, Maryland and grew up in Maryland, Wisconsin and North Carolina. She attended Boston University where she received her BA in English Literature and she received her DVM from the University of Minnesota. She joined Companion Animal Hospital in August 2007 after relocating to Seattle with her husband and two sons; Graham who is 5 years old, and Henry, who is 3. In her free time Dr. Goldthwaite enjoys gardening, cooking, biking and running
Valerie French, DVM
Dr. Valerie French was born and raised in Bellevue, Washington. She attended Sammamish High School, and Washington State University where she earned her DVM.
Dr. French was originally with Companion Animal Hospital as a veterinarian from 2001 through 2004, but left Companion in early 2005 to travel to the U.K. to pursue higher education. There she earned her Masters of Science in Vet Infection and Disease Control at the University of Liverpool. When she returned to the states she went back to general practice, and when a position became available with Companion in 2010, she jumped at the chance to be part of the Companion team once again. She also currently works with both regional and national Reserve Veterinary Corps for Disaster Preparedness and Outbreak Investigation. Dr. French lives in Redmond with her two kitties, Molly and Tyler, and in her free time she enjoys traveling, relaxing, and cycling. Dr. French is also a volunteer at the local Homeless Pet Care Clinic.
