Description

The Elkhorn Veterinary Clinic is a mixed animal practice, caring for dogs, cats, and other companion animals, horses and farm animals. We pride ourselves in our delivery of high-quality care to our patients and personalized service to our clients. Four of our veterinarians specialize in small animals while five specialize in large animals. The Elkhorn Veterinary Clinic serves a large portion of southeast Wisconsin and northeast Illinois, through a central physical location in Elkhorn, WI combined with our large animal ambulatory practice. As an AAHA accredited animal hospital, the Elkhorn Veterinary Clinic has passed the strict quality assessment review of the its facility, medical equipment, practice methods, and pet health care management.

The Elkhorn Veterinary Clinic offers a complete range of services, including medical case management, surgery, dentistry, lameness and sports medicine, and complementary and alternative medicine. The clinic boasts a full in-house diagnostic laboratory as well as progressive diagnostic tools such as digital radiography, digital ultrasound and laser.

Dr. Jeffery Korosec

Dr. Jeffery Korosec

Dr. Jeffery Korosec graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. He joined the Elkhorn Veterinary Clinic in 1992 and became a partner in 1999. His special interests are soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. Dr. Korosec, his wife, three daughters, and one son live in the Elkhorn area with their two dogs and 4 cats. The Korosec family can often be seen together training for family triathlons.

Dr. Colleen Stewart

Dr. Colleen Stewart grew up in Williams Bay and currently lives in the area with her husband, three sons, adopted barn cats, a Green Wing Macaw, Yellow Crested Cockatoo, Red Lored Amazon, chinchillas, and an adopted Thoroughbred race horse off the track. Dr. Stewart completed her undergraduate degree in Zoology at the University of California - Davis. Then, she graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. She started working at the Elkhorn Veterinary Clinic in 1995. Her interests include small animal internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and the animal/human bond.

Dr. Derek Williamson

Dr. Derek Williamson

Dr. Derek Williamson graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 2003 and joined the clinic shortly after graduation. He is interested in small mammals (rabbits, ferrets, etc.), and soft tissue surgery. He is also developing his skills in orthopedic surgery and ultrasonography. Dr. Williamson, his wife, and 2 daughters have three rabbits and their Border Collie, Chuck.

Dr. Ellen Waller

Dr. Ellen Waller received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois in 1980. She worked in a mixed animal practice and then joined the Peace Corps, where she worked with a cattle cooperative in Africa. Dr. Waller has been engaged in small animal practice in this area since 1993, and joined Elkhorn Veterinary Clinic in December 2007. She enjoys all aspects of general practice and has special interests in feline medicine and surgery, geriatric care, dentistry, and animal behavior. Dr. Waller lives with her husband, Gianni, on a small farm in Woodstock, Illinois which they share with Lucky, the lab, and an assortment of cats, horses, goats, geese, and chickens.

Dr. Richard C. Tully

Dr. Richard C. Tully

Dr. Richard C. Tully has been practicing veterinary medicine since receiving his doctor of veterinary medicine from The Ohio State University in 1978. He is a member of a number of professional organizations, including the AVMA, American Association of Equine Practitioners, Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association, a long-time member and past president of the Wisconsin Equine Practitioners Association, and was for six years a member of the Board of Visitors at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Tully�s article, Severe Hypoglycemia Attributable to Surreptitious Injection of Insulin in a Mare, was published in the July 15, 1988 Journal of the AVMA. His principle areas of interest include medicine, reproduction, and lameness. In addition to his professional activities, Dr. Tully is on the Board of Directors for S.M.I.L.E.S., a local non-profit therapeutic riding center for children and adults with disabilities. Dr. Tully has two daughters, Julie and Katie and enjoys outdoor sports, especially golf.

Dr. Robert Entwistle

Dr. Robert Entwistle, one of the partners in the practice, graduated from the University of Illinois in 1981 and joined the Elkhorn Veterinary Clinic at that time. Dr. Entwistle�s areas of interest include production animal veterinary care, internal medicine, and surgery. Dr. Entwistle lives in the Elkhorn area with his wife, four daughters, and son. He can often be found on the sidelines of one of his children�s sporting events.

Dr. Philip Burns

Dr. Philip Burns graduated from Colorado State University in 1986 and completed an internship at Illinois Equine Hospital in 1987. Dr. Burns joined the Elkhorn Veterinary Clinic in 1987 and is one of the clinic�s four partners. His special interest include equine reproduction, lameness and dentistry which he also practices abroad seasonally in an equine specialty practice in New Zealand. Dr. Burns and his wife and two daughters reside in Eagle, WI on a small hobby farm.

Dr. Tracy Busalacchi

Dr. Tracy Busalacchi graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997 and has been practicing in Southeast Wisconsin since. Dr. Busalacchi (Dr. Tracy to her clients) joined the staff of Elkhorn Veterinary Clinic in 2000. Her membership in professional organizations includes AVMA, Wisconsin Veterinary Medicine Association, American Association of Equine Practitioners, MVMA, American Endurance Ride Conference. She is deeply involved with horses, especially endurance riding, and has membership in the American Quarter Horse Associaiton, American Paint Horse Association, and Arabian Horse Association. Dr. Tracy's specific areas of interest include reproduction, emergency medicine, internal medicine, and sports medicine. Originally from East Troy, Wisconsin, Dr. Tracy continues to live in the area with her husband, two dogs, two cats, and four horses. Dr. Tracy gives back to the community at large by speaking to 4-H and riding clubs throughout the area.

Dr. Bret Luedke

Dr. Bret Luedke grew up on a small ranch in Colorado riding and packing horses through the mountains. He graduated from Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Both his father and grandfather are veterinarians, and as a third generation veterinarian he has worked in the field most of his life. Dr. Luedke's special interests are equine lameness and reproductive work, but he enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine. He completed a year-long internship at a large equine referral practice in Idaho that specializes in lameness, medicine and reproduction. Dr. Luedke is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture. He and his wife, Dr. Chelsea Luedke live in Elkhorn with their two dogs, Max and Tica. When he's not working, you may find Dr. Luedke hitting the links playing golf or on the ice playing hockey.

Dr. Chelsea Luedke

Dr. Chelsea Luedke graduated from Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Her special interests are in sport horse medicine, lameness and imaging; she completed a year-long internship in Northern Virginia at an equine practice specializing in sport horse medicine. As a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist, Dr. Luedke finds the dramatic improvements she sees when using this complementary medicine very rewarding. Dr. Luedke is an accomplished horsewoman, having brought several horses up through the two-star level in eventing. She participated in multiple Young Rider's Championships and graduated as an HA from Pony Club. Dr. Luedke is currently pursuing Federation Equestre Internationale certification with the intent to participate in international shows.
