Description
Homestead Veterinary Clinic is a full-service, small animal veterinary clinic providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care.
We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. The facility includes a pharmacy, in-hospital surgical suite, in-house x-ray capabilities including dentistry x-ray, and a closely supervised hospitalization area.
Our mission is to take care of people by taking care of the pets that are important to them. We strive to offer the best care possible while providing alternatives when needed to best suit the individual client. We will always listen to our clients, treat their pets like we would our own, and communicate in a way that makes the owner a true part of the animal's health care team.

Doctors
Danielle Johnson, DVM
Dr. Johnson grew up in Red Wing, Minnesota, and graduated from the University of Illinois Veterinary School in 2002. She worked in central Illinois for several years before settling in St. Croix County in 2009. Dr. Johnson purchased Homestead Veterinary Clinic (formerly St. Croix Valley Veterinary Clinic) in 2011.
Homestead Veterinary Clinic's motto, Helping People Help Their Pets, reflects Dr. Johnson's belief that veterinary medicine is a human service profession. People are enriched by the pets who share their lives and are the ultimate beneficiaries of happy, healthy pets. This human dimension adds another level of satisfaction to a job she already loves.
Throughout her career, Dr. Johnson has enjoyed honing her veterinary skills, especially in surgery, dentistry, and internal medicine. As a veterinary student, she was taught that the key to success is to never lose the passion for learning. She continuously works to improve her medical knowledge as well as her communication skills.
When clients understand treatment options, they are able to make the best decisions for their pets. Being able to explain complex conditions in a way that pet owners understand is essential to Helping People Help Their Pets.
