Dr. Neal Beeber
Dr. Neal Beeber has been the owner/director of the Rutherford Animal Hospital since 1985. He was born and raised in New Jersey and did his undergraduate work at Cook College, a part of Rutger's University. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Michigan State University in May of 1983. He then did a one year medical and surgical internship at Oradell Animal Hospital, and became board certified in companion animal medicine in 1991. He enjoys working with all types of animals. He also has a special interest in ferret medicine and has written articles on ferret diseases. Dr Beeber recently contributed a chapter on ferret surgery to a veterinary textbook. He also has a special interest in acupuncture, herbal supplements, and traditional Chinese medicine. He has just recently completed some extensive study in this area. He is active in the community and has served as president of the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association,president of the board of Veterinary Medical Examiners and chairman of the New Jersey Veterinary Foundation.
Dr. Beeber is married, has one son, a Rottweiler-mix named George and a cat named Spike. He enjoys tennis, skiing, bike riding, and working for animal charities.
Dr. Briganti
Born and raised in Rutherford, Dr. Briganti has two brothers and one sister, as well as two cats and a Great Dane. She attended Cook College, Rutger's University and received a B.S. in Animal Science. She then attended the University of Tennessee to pursue her veterinary degree. Dr. Briganti joined the Rutherford Animal Hospital in 1996. She has developed expertise in veterinary dentistry and hopes to become a dental fellow in the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry someday. She also has an interest in animal behavior. Outside of animals Dr. Briganti is also interested in music as she plays both guitar and piano. She is very active in church and is involved in youth ministry.
Dr. Jose Pla
Dr Jose Pla was born and educated in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. He furthered his studies by attending college at Penn State University and then receiving his Doctor Of Veterinary Medicine degree at Cornell University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Following graduation, Dr Pla worked as an associate veterinarian at Rutherford Animal Hospital in Rutherford, N.J. until 1998. After leaving Rutherford, Dr Pla obtained additional experience working at a large emergency and critical care facility and by becoming the medical director of VCA Allenwood Veterinary Hospital. Wanting a more intimate environment for himself and his patients, he purchased Cats Exclusive Veterinary Hospital in June, 2000.
Cats Exclusive is a full-service, feline only veterinary hospital. The hospital is limited to cats, with the goal of providing excellent feline out-patient service and in-patient are. In this regards, Cats Exclusive maintains accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association. This level of accreditation is maintained by less than 20 % of all veterinary hospitals in the country.
Dr Pla furthered his horizons by becoming co-owner of A&R Veterinary Hospital and Little Falls Veterinary Hospital in 2003 and 2004 respectively.
Dr Pla is known for practicing high quality, cutting edge medicine as well as his thorough and caring bedside manner. He hopes to bring, to Little Falls, his experience in feline medicine and the application of laser surgery to patients of all species.
