Dr Margaret Wright, DVM

Dr Wright was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She graduated from North Carolina State University with a B.S. degree in Animal Science. She received her DVM degree from Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1983.

Dr Wright attributes her love and respect of animals to growing up on a family-run dairy farm which was run solely by her parents and four brothers. "I was totally inspired in choosing a career in veterinary medicine after watching our large animal veterinarian come out to the farm to provide not only medical treatements, but preventative herd health care. I knew that one day I to wanted to help provide medical care for ill pets that are depending on us to bring them to better health."

Here at Seventy First Animal Hospital, Dr Wright treats cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, and other exotic pets. She has a special interest in laser surgery, dentistry, and senior health care.

Dr Wright and her husband Danny share their home with their pets: two standard poodles named Ritzi and Louie Pierre and an American Spaniel named Sparky. They have one cat named Cagerunner, who was a rescue, and a Moluccan Cockatoo named Peaches. Dr Wright also loves trail riding on their horse, Cobalt, and gardening.

Dr Marc Schoenfield, DMV

Dr Marc T. Schoenfield joined our hospital in February of 2004. He received a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania and his DMV (Dottore di Medicina Veterinaria) in Perugia, Italy. While there, he met and married Anna Maria in 1976. He founded and developed his three doctor animal hospital which he sold after 18 years.

In 2001, Dr Schoenfield trained and was board certified in veterinary acupuncture through the Chi Institute in Reddick, Florida. He feels that his training in alternative medicine brings him additional tools in treating and maintaining good health in pets.

Dr Schoenfield, Anna Maria, and their pets reside in neighboring Southern Pines. He enjoys writing songs, playing tennis and golf, and eating Anna Maria's magnificent authentic Italian cooking. "My dad always told me that if you have a good attitude, you'll have a good life. So far it's been better than good. It's been great!"
