Doctors
HEATHER DANBOISE, DVM
Dr. Danboise came to Shop City Animal Hospital in November of 2002 as an Associate Veterinarian. She brought with her several years of veterinary experience from working as a kennel assistant and veterinary assistant, to working as a veterinarian. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University in May of 1999.
Dr. Danboise became our Hospital Medical Director in March 2007 and has applied her knowledge and related experience to her position, to help the associate veterinarians as well as the technicians and receptionists.
Dr. Danboise enjoys spending time with her husband Trevor, and her "kids", her 3 cats Acorn, Clue, and Eric, and her 2 dogs Miguel and Rayne.
Heather Mayers, DVM
Dr. Heather Mayers received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Cornell University in 2006. After graduation, she spent two years working in a large animal practice in Northern NY followed by two years in an equine practice in the Hudson Valley. In November 2010, Dr. Mayers returned to Central NY to be closer to her family. Dr. Mayers works part-time at both Shop City and Rome Animal Hospitals.

Jeff Rubin, DVM
Dr. Jeff Rubin joined Shop City Animal Hospital in June of 2012. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from St. George's University in Grenada, West Indies in June 2011. He also has a Bachelor of Science degree from Cortland as well as a Master's in exercise and sports sciences from Florida International University.
Dr. Rubin did an externship at Shop City in the summer of 2009 so he was already familiar with our hospital staff as well as clients.
Dr. Rubin has interests in canine rehabilitation, acupuncture, and veterinary chiropractic.
When not at Shop City, Dr. Rubin enjoys exercising as well as hiking. He has three yorkshire terriers named Lexie, Zoey, and Emily.
