Since 1977, Dr. Robert T. Pane has been a Veterinarian and Medical Director at South Kendall Animal Hospital.
Dr. Pane's fondness of animals began at a young age. After working on a local dairy farm, he became a kennel assistant at a local veterinary hospital where he was hired 8 years later as an associate veterinarian. More than anything, Dr. Pane attributes much of his inspiration to the German Shephard he raised from a puppy, who he shared unconditional love and companionship with.
His motivation to care for animals is undeniable as he earned early admission to veterinary school at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in 1971. In 1975, he obtained his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. He also holds certification in Stem Cell Therapy and K-Laser Therapy.
With areas of professional focus including dentistry, surgery, exotic animal medicine, and dermatology, Dr. Pane has expertise in even the most complex cases. He is also a member of innumerable prestigious organizations including the American Veterinary Medical Association, South Florida Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, Association of Avian Veterinarians, Florida Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Feline Practitioners, American Veterinary Dental Society, American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology, American Ferret Association, American Heartworm Society, American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association, Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians, Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians, Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association, Association of Veterinary Family Practice, and the Association of Sugar Glider Veterinarians.
At home, Dr. Pane lives with his wife and two Boston Terriers, a cat, and a Yellow Front Amazon Parrot. When he is not caring for his patients at South Kendall Animal Hospital, he appreciates time gardening, weight lifting, stand-up paddle boarding, walking, and hiking.
A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Dr. Sheila Marie Faulkner joined the team at South Kendall Animal Hospital as an Associate Veterinarian in July 2011.
At the age of 3 years old, Dr. Faulkner watched a veterinarian perform a C-section on a cow at a farm in Belgium, influencing her to become a veterinarian herself. Now, as a veterinarian herself, Dr. Faulkner finds gratification in having the opportunity to interact with children and their pets and being able to teach them how to be better and more responsible pet owners. Overall, she enjoys strengthening the human-animal bond and connecting with her clients through a shared love and respect for animals.
In 2003, Dr. Faulkner earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico. After working as a veterinary technician for a few years, Dr. Faulkner attended the University of Glasgows School of Veterinary Medicine in Scotland where she obtained a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery in 2011, the equivalent of a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.
With areas of professional focus including internal medicine and critical care and emergency medicine, Dr. Faulkner has experience in even the most complex cases. Fluent in Spanish and English, with a working knowledge in French and Portuguese, Dr. Faulkner has the ability to effectively communicate and connect with many clients. She is also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, South Florida Veterinary Medical Association, Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, and the British Veterinary Association.
At home, Dr. Faulkner and her husband care for two rescue mutts. In her free time, she enjoys travelling, taking long drives exploring South Florida, spending time outdoors with her husband and dogs, and cooking.
Dr. Theresa Weir is a Senior Associate Veterinarian who joined South Kendall Animal Hospital in 2007.
Born in Grande Ledge, Michigan, Dr. Weir expresses a lifelong appreciation and respect for animals. She finds fulfillment in interacting and forming relationships with clients to better educate them on good practices of responsible pet ownership.
For her undergraduate studies in Biology, Dr. Weir originally attended Michigan State University before transferring to the University of Northern Michigan. Her exceptional work ethic and potential granted her early admission to veterinary school at Purdue Universitys School of Veterinary Medicine, where she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2007.
Dr. Weirs areas of professional focus include feline medicine and surgery, making her a valuable doctor at South Kendall Animal Hospital. She is also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, South Florida Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Association of Feline Practitioners.
At home, Dr. Weir is the loving owner of two cats and a dog. She enjoys stand-up paddle boarding and spending time with her two-legged and four-legged family members.
