Doctors
Dr. Carol Crittenden
Dr. Carol Crittenden grew up in Temple City and remembers accompanying her mother to Temple City Animal Hospital to have the family dog, Midnight, looked after by Dr. Jobe and his staff back in the 1960s. She received her DVM degree from UC Davis in 1985. Following graduation she returned to the San Gabriel Valley and has been practicing locally ever since.
Dr. Crittenden is pictured here with her cat, Kit Cat. Not pictured are sons Sam and Tim, daughter Elizabeth (who is responsible for Kit Kat's name) husband Arthur and a Chihuahua puppy named either Speck or Lassie (The Crittenden family is still working through the name thing. "Speck" makes more sense, but "Lassie, go get Timmy, he's fallen down the well" may be too good not to use.)
Dr. Bruce Carlson
Dr. Carlson loves golfing, fishing, and flying. He is originally from Nebraska, and received his DVM degree from Colorado State University in 1970. After graduation, he moved to California and has been a resident ever since. Not pictured here are his two dogs, Swede and Jazzmine (AKA "Pigpen").
Dr. Amy Rosencrantz
Hi, I am Amy Rosencrantz. I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada and grew up surrounded by pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, horses, hamsters, and even fish. I loved them all and knew from an early age that I wanted to spend my life taking care of animals.
I obtained my bachelors degree from Brandeis University in Boston, MA in 2001 and my doctorate from Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS in 2008. I also completed a 1 year internship at the ASPCA's Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital in New York City. I got to move from the Little Apple (Manhattan, KS) to the Big Apple (Manhattan, NY), doing what I loved in both places. Bergh Memorial is a wonderful sanctuary for animals, and I enjoyed the opportunity to experience life in New York City while being a part of a facility dedicated to rescuing abused and neglected pets.
While preparing for veterinary school, I worked as a nurse for an animal hospital in Las Vegas for 3 years. That is where I met and fell in love with my baby. I have a miniature dachshund named Darby Doo who stuck with me through all of vet school and beyond. She is a joy and pleasure, and you will often find the two of us together playing an intense game of fetch at the park. She is as obsessed with tennis balls as I am with animals.
I have recently moved to San Gabriel and I am thrilled to be coming on full-time with the TCAH!!! I look forward to meeting your families and becoming a crucial part of your pet's life, health & well-being.
Arthur Crittenden
Arthur is quite popular with the other employees at TCAH as he hands out paychecks twice a month and occasionally brings stuff like bagels to work. He is working on a couple of projects for the hospital: an outdoor exercise/play area for pets boarding at the hospital and the addition of Satuday hours. Arthur met Dr. Crittenden upon her return from vet school at UC Davis in 1985 and persuaded her to marry him in 1986.
