Dr. William Condon and Dr. Kenneth Rix founded the Sakonnet Veterinary Hospital in 1972, just two years after they graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. While each doctor gained experience working in separate veterinary practices, they sought a partnership... To grow a successful practice together and to devote time to their growing families as well. After some careful market research to determine where there was a genuine need for veterinary care, the young doctors decided to locate their practice in - and move their families closer to - the Tiverton and Little Compton region collectively referred to as Sakonnet. They effectively transformed a garage into a temporary veterinary hospital. Five months later, they moved into the first part of the building where the office stands today.
