Digital Radiography. Digital x-rays (radiographs) allow far greater sensitivity for viewing all body parts. We have been able to diagnose foreign bodies that would not be visible on a traditional x-ray. The detail of a DR image is unsurpassed.
CO2 Surgical Laser. For nearly a decade, we have performed laser surgery. Until a few years ago, we were one of only 4 practices in the Chicagoland area to offer laser surgery. The benefits of laser surgery include less post-operative pain, less bleeding, less bruising, and a more cosmetic healing. We feel it is imperative that all declaws are performed with a laser
Dental Equipment. At Glendale Animal, we perform dental procedures with the latest equipment, which allows us to be thorough in our assessment and treatment of dental disease. Our high-speed drill enables us to perform a less traumatic extraction and shorten anesthetic time. Dental x-ray is also available for us to evaluate tooth roots, and know when extractions are necessary. We do refer for specialty dental work, such as root canals.

We perform many types of soft tissue surgeries at our clinic. Soft tissue surgeries are those that are not associated with bone. These surgeries can provide many benefits to pets.
When we need to figure out whats wrong with your pet, we routinely use x-rays to help identify the cause of the problem, rule out possible problems, or provide a list of possible causes. We may also use x-rays during a wellness exam to diagnose potential problems before they become serious.
Shorewood Animal Hospital was established in 1976. Since that time, our professional staff has been dedicated to providing the pets in the community with exceptional veterinary care. We offer complete diagnostic testing, nutritional consultation, dental care, preventative medicine, and full medical and surgical treatment.
We believe that most pets respond best to medical treatment in their home, so we make every effort to treat them as outpatients. However if your pet requires more medical supervision, we are also capable of offering full service hospitalization. In some advanced cases, we may recommend overnight care at the emergency clinic.
