Welcome to 5280 Veterinary Care!
At 5280 Veterinary Care, our compassionate and experienced professional staff understand that your pets are members of the family– and as such, their wellbeing is of the utmost importance. Selecting a clinic to entrust the health of a beloved family member to is an important decision, and once you are a member of the 5280 Veterinary Care community, located in the historic Whittier neighborhood, you can rest assured that you have made the right choice.
Our goal is to enable the companion animals of North Denver – Whittier, Skyland, Five Points, Curtis Park, Clayton, Cole, River North, Elyria Swansea, and more, to live the happiest and healthiest lives possible. Whether your cherished pet is a canine or a feline, nothing but the best care will do for the animals we share our lives with. Here at 5280, we strive to strengthen the special bond that owners and their pets share through our personable and warm bedside manner, in addition to our state-of-the-art facility.
Along with the care of our four-legged patients, it is important to build a trusting relationship with the humans who love them. We strive to communicate to our clients with clarity and warmth so that both humans and animals feel welcomed at our practice.
Dr. Lesley Leach is the co-owner and medical director at 5280 Veterinary Care. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in 2006. Prior to attending veterinary school, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Zoology and Biology from the University of Wyoming. Dr. Leach has a professional interest in radiology.
Originally, Dr. Leach practiced in Northern Colorado before joining the team at Indian Tree Animal Hospital in Arvada. In 2016, she became co-owner of Indian Tree. Together with the award-winning veterinary team at Indian Tree, Dr. Leach and her fellow staff expanded and opened 5280 Veterinary Care as a second location near Denver’s River North Art District, in the heart of the historic Whittier neighborhood. Her favorite part about working at 5280 Veterinary Care is the close-knit family feel between hospital staff and clients alike.
Dr. Leach likes to spend her free time doing yoga, running, traveling, and taking photographs. Her favorite cuisines include wine, cheese, and artisan bread, and she always jumps at the opportunity to dine at Cochino Taco and Blue Sushi Sake Grill. Dr. Leach shares her home with Jeeves, a black D.S.H. cat who she describes as a bit of a vampire who loves to give love nibbles. Her first furbaby was a fiery orange tabby named Cleitus, and Devon Rex is her favorite breed of cat.
Dr. Anjuli Hein is the co-owner of 5280 Veterinary Care. She graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a degree in Biology, and then continued on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree at Colorado State University in 2007. She specializes in acupuncture, and has professional interests in dentistry, soft-tissue surgery, senior pet care, and client education.
Dr. Hein was born and raised on a ranch in Kremmling, a small town in Northwestern Colorado, and she grew up working for her local veterinarian. After earning her veterinary degree, Dr. Hein worked at a mixed-animal practice in Salida, CO before joining the team at Indian Tree Animal Hospital in Arvada in 2008. She became a co-owner of Indian Tree in 2016, and is proud to open 5280 as a second hospital location near Denver’s River North Art District, in the heart of the historical Whittier neighborhood.
