Kathleen has been employed with Acah for a little over seven years. You might see her speeding about the floor plan quickly unpacking boxes of hospital supplies in between appointments or intaking some of our surgical procedures for the day. Kathleen attended the Veterinary Technology program at LaGuardia Community College and received most of her training in New York City working at the Humane Society of New York. Kathleen has also been an instructor and tutor for college courses including Intro to Veterinary Technology, Biological Chemistry and Veterinary Nursing. In her spare time she sings baritone with the Buffalo Gateway Chorus.
Kathleen’s first experiences as a technician began with treating strays she and her family would stumble upon in their neighborhood on the west side of Buffalo. It was not uncommon to find a crow named Herby with a splint or a cat named Fluffy with a bandage. Eventually, these homeless creatures became family pets.
Kathleen attended Buffalo State College in pursuit of a career in the arts. After graduating with a B.A. in Theatre, she moved to New York City and lived there until 2005, participating in many stage productions. Her family, with a yard for her dogs and more space for her cats, called her back to Buffalo and now Kathleen has found the means to stage her own production. It’s a great feeling and privilege to be happy going to work each day at All Creatures.
