Michael Morris, VMD, Diplomate ACPV

Dr. Michael Morris grew up in Lansdale, PA. His earliest involvement with animals was in the 4-H and with his grandfather, a fifth-generation cattle dealer. Intent on a career with animals, he studied Animal Science at Penn State before attending the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School.

After veterinary school, Dr. Morris simultaneously started a veterinary practice, completed a residency in Avian Medicine and Pathology at the University of Pennsylvania and received an MBA from the Wharton School of Business on a full scholarship from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. He then taught at the University of Georgia Veterinary School before taking a position with American Cyanamid as a poultry veterinarian, followed by several management positions. By the time American Cyanamid was sold in 1994, Dr. Morris owned North Jersey Animal Hospital in Wayne.

He continued to consult in the poultry industry with Pfizer, Roche and Merck and opened a satellite veterinary clinic in Riverdale. Both veterinary offices were sold in 2002, then in 2005, Dr. Morris repurchased the Riverdale office, and Animal Care Center was born. In between, Dr. Morris worked as an emergency room and critical care clinician which helps to guide the emphasis on round-the-clock patient care at Animal Care Center.

Dr. Morris is the father of triplets who often work at the hospital, and has a host of unusual interests.

Dr. Mostafa Elshafie

Dr. Elshafie joined our staff in March 2012 after working in an emergency hospital and in a daytime practice in Queens. He is also interested in horses and birds, having previously raised falcons. Clents appreciate the time he spends with them and their pets, carefully explaining his findings and and discussing the options. He has been a welcome addition to our staff.
