Animal Health Services is a full service veterinary surgical and diagnostic center with routine care, grooming, canine reproduction(same day progesterone results!), cat care clinic, nutrition and daytime Urgent and Emergency Care.

We are a fully equipped hospital with diagnostic tools such as Ultrasound, Endoscopes, Laparoscopes, Arthroscopes, Digital Radiography, Digital Dental Radiography, In-House Laboratory equipment, CO2 Laser, Radiosurgical units, and Telemedicine. With all of this technology at our disposal, we are able to diagnose an illness and begin the treatment process without sending our patients to other facilities across the valley. We also offer complete professional grooming services and therapeutic skin treatments.

Animal Health Services of Cave Creek has been serving the community with exemplary pet care since 1994. In May 2005, our "state of the art" facility was completed and we made the move from a building of approximately 1000 sq. ft. to a building of nearly 10,000 sq. ft.

Our mission at Animal Health Services is to provide the highest quality veterinary medicine available and to provide a level of customer service that will exceed your expectations. We like to think of each and every client as our friends and treat them as such. Your pets are an extension of our family and we treat them as if they were our own.

The use of ultrasound technology has greatly improved our abilities to make an accurate diagnosis.  Animal Health Services uses a  MyLab 50 ultrasound machine that is considered state of the art for a veterinary hospital. Rachel MacKague, DVM
Rachel MacKague, DVM

Dr. McKague grew up in both California and Colorado. After high school she attended Colorado State University where she received her Bachelor degree in Equine Science and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She has always had a passion for horseback riding, running, and yoga, and spends her free time baking for her colleagues!

Dr Lauren McEllen
Dr Lauren McEllen

Dr. Lauren McEllen, a Cornell University graduate, joined our Animal Health Services team in 2017. Originally from New Jersey, she grew up loving animals and participated in numerous poultry and horse 4H events. She completed her undergrad at Stockton University, where she graduated with a degree in Biology and a minor in Business. During Dr. Mc Ellen's undergrad program she volunteered as a veterinary technician at a small animal rescue.

Dr. McEllen moved to Arizona in 2017 with her Beagle mix, Sienna, and her Crested Gecko, Marcus. Sienna has been trained in agility and has begun learning about scent work. In her free time, Dr. McEllen enjoys crocheting, hiking with her dog, exploring antique shops, photography and raising chickens.

Dr Lane Smith

Dr. Lane Smith, a Midwestern University graduate, started as an extern with Animal Health Services before becoming an associate veterinarian in the summer of 2018. Growing up in North Dakota, his parents fostered his love of animals. Animals became his passion, keeping everything from snakes to birds, frogs to rabbits, and everything in between. He excels at canine and feline practice with an increased interest in soft tissue surgery. Having received his bachelor’s degree in marine biology, his passion outside of veterinary medicine is with his multiple fresh and saltwater aquariums. He continues to play his favorite sport, ice hockey, weekly. He enjoys scuba diving, traveling, and anything to do with fish tanks. He moved to Arizona with his wife in 2014. They share their home with two spoiled Golden Retrievers, Nala and Midas.

Tanya Wyman DVM

Dr. Tanya Wyman, a graduate of Washington State University in 1996, became a permanent staff member in 1997. She is a resident of Northern Phoenix, sharing her home with a vocally opinionated feline. Dr. Wyman possesses an exceptional interest in Avian medicine, and sees quite a variety of winged patients annually as well as an extensive array of four-legged pets.
