The Animal Hospital of Huntington Beach is a full service veterinary hospital that has been taking care of pets in the Huntington Beach, Westminster and surrounding communities since 1978. Our patients include dogs, cats, small mammals like guinea pigs and chinchillas, and rodents, rabbits, reptiles and birds. We provide comprehensive medical and surgical care for your pet from puppy & kittens to senior pets. In addition, we offer boarding, bathing and grooming services.

Dr. Coran is the medical director of Animal Hospital of Huntington Beach. She is a native of California and currently lives in Huntington Beach with her family and their cat Buster. Dr. Coran graduated from Washington State University. Her special interests are in dermatology and behavioral medicine. She has been appointed as an Associate Professor for Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Coran is also certified in stem cell therapy and therapeutic laser applications.
Dr. Fynaardt graduated from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine. He then completed a 1-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery. After his internship, Dr. Fynaardt practiced in Folsom, California. Dr. Fynaardt joined Animal Hospital of Huntington Beach in September, 2012. Dr. Fynaardt treats dogs, cats, exotics, and pocket pets. He has a special interest in diseases, surgical procedures, and medical conditions effecting Bull Dogs and other brachycephalic breeds.read more
Dr. Burpo graduated from Western University of Health Sciences. She currently lives in Downey with her husband, two dogs, one cat, and a leopard gecko. Her interests include exotics, dermatology, and internal medicine. She has previously enjoyed working with exotic animals at the Pacific Marine Mammal Center, the Los Angeles Zoo, and the San Diego Zoo. She also had the opportunity to study abroad with specialists in Melbourne, Australia.
Dr. Ann Ichikawa (fondly known as “Dr. Ann”) received her veterinary degree from Michigan State University. Upon graduation, she came back to her home state of California with her yellow Labrador, Blanche. Blanche was adopted from the orthopedic genetic research project at MSU. Her family also includes another yellow Labrador named Valentine, 2 Golden Retrievers named Pancho and Max, and an eclectus parrot named Quito. Her special interests include internal medicine, dermatology, exotics and wildlife rehabilitation. Dr. Ann's goal is to develop a course of care for each patient's individual and unique needs. Some of her adventures have included traveling to the Galapagos Islands, Chile, Costa Rica, and Africa.read more
Dr. Gross joined our team in 2015. She grew up in Minnesota and received her veterinary degree from the University of Minnesota in 2013, moving out to California shortly thereafter. She works several days a month at the Aquarium of the Pacific as a volunteer vet and has an interest in exotic animals, aquatic medicine and ophthalmology. She currently resides in Long Beach with her dog, Ralph, and enjoys outdoor activities including kayaking, running, swimming and traveling.read more
Dr. Rebecka Celinder joined the Animal Hospital of Huntington Beach in December of 2015. She was born and raised in Sweden, and moved to California to spend time with the American side of her family and to attend university. She graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. Thereafter, she attended the Western University of Health Sciences in the city of Pomona where she achieved her status as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. After veterinary school, she completed a one-year rotating equine surgery and medicine internship in Somis, California. Her professional interests include ophthalmology and dermatology. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and visiting family in Sweden, and hiking with her dog Piper, an Australian cattle dog mix. She also is an avid runner, and has participated in several half marathons.
Dr. Sophia Jakymiw joined our team in 2017. Dr. Jakymiw grew up in Huntington Beach where she volunteered at the Wetlands and Wildlife Care Center and worked as a veterinary assistant at a small animal hospital for 4 years while in high school and attending college. She received her Bachelor of Biological Sciences degree from the University of California Irvine in 2010 and graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. After completing veterinary school she returned to Huntington Beach and worked in general practice. She then went on to complete a rotating internship in small animal emergency medicine, internal medicine, surgery, and oncology in Upland, CA. Her professional interests include dermatology, internal medicine, and wildlife rehabilitation. In her free time she enjoys traveling, hiking, paddle boarding, and reading.read more
