The Animal Hospital of Newport Hills was established in 1974 and has been providing quality veterinary care to Newcastle and surrounding areas for over 40 years. We are open 7 days a week with evening and weekend hours for your convenience. The animal hospital is a full service veterinary facility with 8 doctors on staff to meet your pet’s medical needs. On average, our doctors have more than 12 years of experience as D.V.M.s, and most of our senior support staff has been with us for over 10 years. The Animal Hospital of Newport Hills values our clients and their pets. Dr. Craig Galloway joined the practice in May of 2015. In 2006 he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and in 2010 with a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, both from The Ohio State University. He has been practicing in the Puget Sound region since he graduated and is very happy to join this excellent team. He is particularly interested in dental care, but finds all aspects of medicine fascinating.
Dr. Galloway lives in Bellevue with his wife, Cherries, and two pets, a small dog and a cat, Caska and Jack. His interests include hiking, camping and almost anything that could be considered “nerdy”.
Dr. Davidoff attended the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and graduated in 2011. Her undergraduate degree was in Biochemistry, Biophysics and Molecular Biology (Bbmb) and French from Whitman College in 2006. She previously worked in Royal Tunbridge Wells, England for 2 years before moving back to the Seattle area and joining the Newport team in August 2013. She enjoys baking, historical fencing and knitting. She has an American Eskimo Dog named ‘Kir’ and a black and white tuxedo cat named ‘Clive’.read more
Dr. Rachel Olsen graduated from Oregon State and Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine with honors in 1997. Her undergraduate degrees are from Santa Clara University, with a B.S. in Combined Sciences and a B.S. in Biology with honors in 1991.
Dr. Olsen joined the veterinary team shortly after graduation in November 1997. Her professional interests include geriatric medicine, oncology and chemotherapy and urology. Dr. Olsen lives in Seattle with her husband Mike and daughter Emersen. They have many pets including two English Pointers, “Tess” and “Angus,” three cats, “Ozzy,” “Jimmy” and “Ruby,” and her little buddy, a Dachshund mix, “Buzz.” She recently adopted a Chihuahua mix from Animal Control whose leg we had to amputate due an untreated injury. In her free time Rachel enjoys running in the Seattle parks, yoga and being a mom at home.
Dr. Belau graduated with honors from the University of Minnesota Veterinary College
in 1998. She then moved to Washington State shortly afterward and began working at
Olympic Animal Hospital, in Lynnwood, from 1998-1999. Dr. Belau started working
at the Animal Hospital of Newport Hills in the spring of 1999. Her interests include
running, yoga and cooking. She lives with her husband and daughter and they share their
home with a chocolate lab named “Harley” and 2 cats named “Peepers” and “Trooper”
along with 2 hamsters. Both of her cats were rescues from the hospital.
Dr. Twyla Brown graduated from California Polytechnic State University with honors
in marine biology and ecology in 1996. She graduated from the College of Veterinary
Medicine at Washington State University in 2003 and spent her first year gaining surgical
experience. Dr. Brown joined the Animal Hospital of Newport Hills in 2004 and enjoys
surgery, geriatric medicine and preventative medicine. Dr. Brown and her husband,
Jeremy, have twin daughters, McKenzie and Madison, and live with their yellow
lab “Piper” and their three cats named “Roofus,” “Nash,” and “Lily.”
Dr Rosenkranz graduated from Moorhead State University in Minnesota with a
degree in chemistry in 1993. She then graduated from University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. She practiced small animal medicine for 8 years in Minnesota before moving to Washington State, where she started working at the Animal Hospital of Newport Hills in August of 2005. She and her husband live in North Bend and enjoy hikes and meeting neighbors with their yellow lab “Scout”. Their new kitten “Dewey” causes more mischief than they hoped for.
Dr. Thomas O’Brien attended Michigan State University where she received her B.S. degree
in Zoology with a specialization in Neurobiology and Animal Behavior in 1998. After
spending a few years as a zookeeper, she went back to school and graduated from
Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. Upon graduation she
moved to Seattle and began practicing veterinary medicine. She lives with her husband Justin, 4 year old son and 1 1/2 year old daughter. Dr. Thomas O’Brien is currently waiting for the right pet to find its way to her family as Daphne (pictured) and her 2 elderly cat all recently passed away.
