I am the oldest of four kids and grew up mainly in Texas and Georgia. I have lived all over the US but fell in love with the Rockies when I was at the Air Force Academy in Colorado for undergrad. I majored in Biology for 3 years before shoulder injuries led me to a very early retirement. I finished my last year of undergrad at the University of Connecticut with a BS in Animal Science. After graduation, I worked for two years at Petsmart as a groomer and Banfield as a vet assistant in Fort Collins, CO. I then moved to Prince Edward Island (Canada, eh?) to attend the Atlantic Veterinary College. My furry family consists of a border collie cross, Xena, cat, Kyra, two bunnies, Einstein and Marie Curie, and parrotlet, Petri. I used to horseback ride and now enjoy hiking and camping, reading, especially fantasy and fiction, and am a huge movie buff. My professional interests include behavior, exotics, and integrative medicine, especially acupuncture and chiropractics.
