Dr. Elizabethan Sagen
Dr. Elizabethan Sagen




Dr. Elizabeth Sagen graduated from Colorado State University in 2013. She enjoys providing preventive health care and surgical services for pets of all ages, and particularly likes to discuss socialization and training at new puppy visits to set the foundation for a long and happy life with their owners. Outside of work, Dr. Sagen enjoys spending time with her husband, toddler and is expecting her second daughter, two dogs and a cat. She is also an avid trail runner.

Dr. Danielle Lagana


Dr. Danielle Lagana is a 2013 graduate of Colorado State University Veterinary Medical School. As a veterinary student, she was awarded Merial and Morris Animal Foundation grants to study infectious disease in wild and domestic cats. Dr. Lagana joined Banfield in Bozeman, Montana in 2013 and transferred to the Fort Collins location in 2015. She loves Fort Collins and is thrilled to serve the community as a small animal veterinarian. Her professional interests include internal medicine and preventative care. She enjoys promoting the human-animal bond by partnering with pet owners during all life-stages of their dog or cat. Dr. Lagana also has a certification for fear free examinations. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys skiing, backpacking, cycling, crossfit, and spending time with her growing family and their 10-year-old Aussie Shepherd mix.

Dr. Dorna Khamsi
Dr. Dorna Khamsi

Dr. Dorna Khamsi is a graduate of Colorado State University's Professional Veterinary Medicine program, but practiced in Las Vegas, Nevada prior to moving back to Fort Collins and joining Banfield in the Fall of 2016. While she loves all animals, she has a special affinity for working with dogs and cats, and really understands the special bond owners have with their pets. Dr. Khamsi enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, Kevin, and their dogs, Afie, Penny, and Mayson, and kitty, Abbie. She loves spending time doing outdoor activities like hiking, climbing, and gardening.

Dr. Kristen Walker

Dr. Kristen Walker is a 2017 graduate of Colorado State University Veterinary Medical School and practiced in Windsor, CO before joining Banfield in the Fall of 2018. She is originally from Dallas, TX and spent 10 years in Las Vegas, NV working in commercial real estate lending and mortgage banking before deciding to pursue her lifelong passion of becoming a veterinarian. Her professional interests include preventive care, behavior, and pain management, and she is passionate about low-stress handling and making the visit for your pet as stress-free as possible! Dr. Walker and her husband, Mike, rescue senior dogs, and their family currently consists of 2 basset hounds, a lab, a pit bull mix, a hound mix, a dachshund, and 3 cats.

Dr. Kurt Fennema
Dr. Kurt Fennema

Dr. Kurt Fennema was born and raised in west Michigan; a place that will hold a very dear spot in his heart. He graduated as a veterinarian from Michigan State University in 2016. Dr. Fennema moved to Fort Collins, CO with his fiancé, who is in her final year of residency in veterinary anatomic pathology at Colorado State University. His passions in veterinary medicine include preventive care and dental health and he truly does believe an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Dr. Fennema has always loved playing basketball and cycling, but since moving to Colorado he have also developed a passion of hiking and the outdoors; his goal is to tackle (most of) the 14ers in Colorado.
