Stephanie Smith, DVM

Dr. Stephanie R. Smith, DVM graduated from University of Georgia in 2008. She has worked for Banfield for almost 6 years. Her special intrests include dogs, cats, internal medicine and oncology. She has three pets; Elton John a rescued yorkie who will gladly sign autographs, Kat Ballou a rescued black and white cat who will gladly nudge or trip anyone for a pat on the head, Havasu a rescued border collie who is the smartest person in the room at all times. Leisure time is dominated with pets, playing a variety of stringed instruments with little skill and great enthusiasm, fishing (pole in water, nothing on the hook), spending time with family and friends enjoying the great NC coast.

I am a 2014 graduate of Ross University, I completed my clinical training at Auburn University in Alabama. I grew up on Long Island and love to travel, and have studied abroad in places like Australia and Guatemala. I have 6 pets at home, three dogs and three cats! My veterinary interests include preventive care, internal medicine, and cardiology. In my free time I love outdoor activities, including taking the dogs to the beach, paddle boarding and kayaking.

Ashley Massey, DVM

Dr. Massey is a 2016 graduate of Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine. She is a native of North Carolina and completed her undergraduate studies at NC State University. She grew up in Burlington but spent each summer with her grandparents along the crystal coast in Emerald Isle, where she now calls home. Dr. Massey completed small animal acupuncture courses at the Chi Institute in Florida and is currently working on her certification. In her spare time, she enjoys crafting, kayaking, and boating with her pointer hound mix and her black lab mix, Hazel and Lilly. Dr. Massey's special interests include soft tissue surgery, preventive care, dentistry, and acupuncture.

Dr. Carr graduated from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. She comes from a military family and grew up in Jacksonville, NC before moving to Beaufort, SC where she met her now husband. She attended Clemson University for her undergraduate education. Dr. Carr loves to travel and has been to Guatemala, Costa Rica, Italy, and Greece. She recently spent time in Beijing, China learning about veterinary acupuncture with the Chi Institute. Her professional interests include preventative medicine, internal medicine, and behavior. In her spare time she loves spending time with her family and pets (a cat named Clover and a miniature Dachshund named August aka “Auggie”).
