Dr. Viamonte was born and raised in Cuba. Since early childhood, Dr. Viamonte had special interests in veterinary medicine. His passion for animals was found at his own little farm; taking part in all aspects of animal care and nutrition, until the age of 15 when he moved to the United States. Soon after, Dr. Viamonte started working with companion animals in different settings: private practice, non profit organizations and corporate level with Banfield. After finishing his Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology at the University of Florida, he received his Veterinary degree at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. He followed his training with a post doctoral externship at Georgia Veterinary Specialists, and then returned to Miami to be close to his family. Since then, Dr. Viamonte re-joined Banfield The Pet Hospital and developed a strong relationship between colleagues, clients and patients where he continues to actively consult. Dr. Viamonte enjoys teaching and taking active roles in Hospital management. His special interests include Preventative care medicine, Dermatology and Soft tissue surgery. Dr. Viamonte shares a home with his cat "Cucumber", and enjoys spending time with his family. He also enjoys dancing, cooking, and traveling. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
