Dr. Elise Powell joined Bay Ridge Animal Hospital in July 2018. Her medical style focuses on a holistic approach to preventative care with a strong belief that optimal health and happiness is achieved when an animal’s nutritional, genetic, behavioral and environmental needs are coordinated and addressed in a well balanced manner. Among her many passions is training and behavior, with over 25 years of experience in training, particularly as it relates to animal relinquishment and rescue. In practice, this knowledge is utilized to cultivate lifelong strong relationships between pet and owner. She has a particular fondness for getting puppies and kittens on the right track, but she also has a tender place in her heart for geriatric animals and pain management. She is currently enrolled in Curacore’s medical acupuncture course and will be certified in acupuncture in fall 2018.
Dr. Elise shares her home with her husband and two daughters. She has a German Shepherd named Bisous, and a black Labrador named Kossar. She can be found being active in the outdoors in her spare time. She loves cycling, running, hiking, traveling, and spending time on the water.
