Welcome to Borash Veterinary Clinic!
At Borash Veterinary Clinic, pet care is our passion. Since 1979, our mission has been to provide the Peabody community, as well as the surrounding areas, with high-quality veterinary services in a welcoming, pet-friendly hospital setting.
The experienced medical team at Borash Veterinary Clinic is here for all of your pet care needs. We understand that animal companions come in many different breeds, species, and sizes. That's why pets of all kinds are welcome at our fully-equipped veterinary facility. We are highly trained to care for dogs, cats, ferrets, and exotic pets.
We believe every pet is special and deserving of gentle, compassionate care. For this reason, our facility also serves as a shelter and holding facility for stray animals and lost pets in Peabody and the surrounding areas. If you find a lost or stray pet, please contact us so we can provide the animal with safety and medical care.
If you've never visited us before, we invite you and your pet to stop by and check out our facility first hand! We look forward to meeting you and your pet family, and providing your pets with a lifetime of wellness.
Dr. Myles Borash founded Borash Veterinary Clinic in 1979 out of his genuine love for animals and passion for delivering high-quality medicine. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 1973. Highly experienced, Dr. Borash's practical approach to veterinary medicine has helped keep pets happy and healthy for over fifty years. There isn't much Dr. Borash hasn't seen!
Providing care and shelter for lost and stray pets in the community is important to Dr. Borash. Over the years, Dr. Borash has maintained a Lost Pets & Adoptions program at the clinic in an effort to help animals of all kinds receive clinical care and find loving forever homes. His expertise and big heart also travels to Aruba where he volunteers at clinics performing services and surgeries for stray cats, dogs, and horses. Dr. Borash has professional interests in advanced dental procedures, orthopedics, and many other types of surgeries. He also has over 40 years of experience caring for exotic pets like birds, turtles, rabbits, and more.
His favorite breed is yellow Labradors, and his last companion, Sam, is the yellow lab that's front and center in the clinic mural. When Dr. Borash is not seeing clients and pets, he enjoys bike riding, traveling to Aruba to swim in the tropical Aruban waters, and windsurf racing at warm venues. In fact, in the 1990's, Dr. Borash was a 3-time US National Windsurfing Champion! You may even spot him in the harbor on a windy day. Dr. Borash also greatly enjoys spending time with his wife, Kathleen, daughter, Laura, son and daughter-in-law, David and Lori, and grandsons, Jesse and Aidan.
Dr. Rick Southgate earned his degree in veterinary medicine from Tufts University. Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Southgate spent ten years gaining valuable skills and experience in the veterinary field as a veterinary technician. He even had the exciting opportunity to travel to Alaska and work with Iditarod sled dogs!
Dr. Southgate joined the team at Borash Veterinary Clinic in April 2013 as an Associate Veterinarian and became a partner at the practice in July 2017. Since, he has formed lasting relationships with his clients and their pets through thorough care, compassion, and bedside manner. Actively involved in the veterinary community, Dr. Southgate volunteers as a board member with the Veterinary Association of the North Shore. His professional interests include dermatology, allergies, and oncology.
In his free time, Dr. Southgate enjoys golfing, enjoying cuisine at La Victoria Taqueria, and spending quality time with his wife and sons. Rescued breeds are Dr. Southgate's breed of choice. You may have even met his lovable rescue lab mix Dexter when you came in for a visit!
Amanda Peck joined the team at Borash Veterinary Clinic when she was 16 years old as a kennel technician. She knew a career in the veterinary field was perfect for her, and she valued the positive culture at Borash. Over the years, Amanda worked her way up to kennel assistant, receptionist, head receptionist, and today she is a committed Practice Manager with exceptional leadership abilities.
Working with the hospital team, forming friendships, and interacting with clients and their pets is Amanda's favorite aspects of her job. She especially loves seeing Pitbulls and French Bulldogs come in to visit! At home, Amanda has a loyal dog named Khaleesi, and two feline friends, Chloe and Ellie. In her free time, Amanda enjoys reading, spending time with her husband and pets, and savoring sushi at Maki Sushi
Dr. Dianicia Kirton earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. She has areas of professional interest in holistic integrative medicine, surgery, nutrition, pain management, and medicinal marijuana research.
Dr. Kirton had her sights set on becoming a veterinarian since childhood. Her uncle is a veterinarian, and he shared his passion for providing care to the helpless and voiceless while exposing her to the veterinary field at a young age. In 2015, Dr. Kirton was a USDA emergency responder during the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Outbreak. She also worked with World Vets in Nicaragua, and helped countless animals receive much-needed veterinary care. Locally, Dr. Kirton volunteers her time as a spay/neuter surgeon at MSPCA at Nevins Farm.
In addition to being a passionate veterinary professional, Dr. Kirton is highly skilled and forever curious to learn more that will help her best care for her clients’ loved ones. She is a Fear Free Certified Professional, and is currently training to be a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist at the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Kirton is originally from the state of New York. She presently has two forever friends: Precious, a Bichon Frise, and Balu, a Pitbull. Her favorite activities get her adrenaline pumping, and she also enjoys spending time in nature, hiking, traveling, reading, and listening to music (especially live music!)
