Carrie E. Friedewald, D.V.M.

Dr. Carrie Friedewald began Kennesaw Mountain Animal Hospital in the fall of 2010 and has seen it as a dream that has come to reality from her childhood. She had saved architecture designs, clinic pictures, design tips in a special notebook since she graduated from veterinary school with the idea that one day all of these ideas could be put together to create her perfect vision of a veterinary clinic. KMAH has exceeded those expectations and has been the perfect place to continue to practice veterinary medicine in an optimal environment. Dr. Friedewald is a Marietta native, with her mother having grown up in Marietta and father having grown up in Atlanta. She went to Marist High School and graduated with honors, as well as playing varsity volleyball, basketball and tennis. She was named to the Georgia All-Star volleyball team, was also voted All-State for doubles tennis and received numerous Scholar Athelete awards. She then went to Davidson College on a volleyball scholarship, where she was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll, graduated cum laude with a BS in Biology, a BA in Psychology and a Pre-Veterinary minor. She then went to the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated cum laude in 2002 and received the class Award for Excellence in Internal Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Friedewald has practiced as a vet in Marietta for 8 years before she opened KMAH. She was awarded by Atlanta Magazine as a 5-star Veterinarian in 2010 as voted by over 30,000 pet owners and veterinary colleagues. She was also named one of the 20 Rising Stars Under 40 by Cobb Life magazine in 2010. Dr. Friedewald is married to Marietta attorney, Chris Bethel and has a 6 year old daughter, Emma. She loves to spend her spare time with her family, reading, karaoke or exercising. They are members of North Metro Community Church. Dr. Friedewald is very passionate about helping the Cobb County Humane Society and their no-kill shelter philosophy. She particularly enjoys internal medicine, oncology, soft tissue surgery and cardiology.
