Michael B. Elliott, DVM — Chief of Staff
Michael B. Elliott, DVM — Chief of Staff

Dr. Elliott, our Chief of Staff, has loved every year of the 33 years he has been practicing veterinary medicine! He grew up in Highland Springs, Virginia and currently lives in Midlothian with his wife Midge, Hospital Manager at Stratford Hills Veterinary Center. After completing undergraduate studies at Virginia Commonwealth University in 1974, Dr. Elliot attended veterinary school at Tuskegee University in Alabama, earning his DVM degree in 1978. His medical interests include orthopedic and soft tissue surgery.

In his spare time, Dr. Elliot enjoys 18th century living history, black powder shooting, woodworking, and antique car restoration. He and his wife have two cats — Effie, a 16 year old domestic shorthair, and Lilly, a 12 year old Siamese mix. Dr. Elliot also enjoys spending time with his four grandchildren — Chatman and Lane, who live in Connecticut, and Emma and Reilly, who live in Las Vegas.

David Kitchens, DVM — Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Kitchens is an associate veterinarian at Stratford Hills Veterinary Center. He has been practicing veterinary medicine in the Richmond and Tri-Cities, Virginia area for 25 years. In 1983, he graduated from Virginia Tech and then attended veterinary school at Tuskegee University in Alabama. He earned his DVM degree in 1987. A Richmond native, Dr. Kitchens resides in New Kent County with his wife. They have been married for 21 years.

In his free time, Dr. Kitchens enjoys camping, hiking, fishing, dog obedience training, visiting national parks, and travelling. He has three Labrador retrievers — Aspen, Rowan, and Willow.
