Born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, Dr. Michael Weigand attended Kansas State University where he was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology in 1982. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Weigand was admitted to Kansas State University School of Veterinary Medicine and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1986.
After practicing veterinary medicine at Alosta Animal Hospital in Glendora, CA. for eight years, Dr. Weigand opened the doors to Terra Vista Animal Hospital in 1994. Over the years, the positive feedback and expressions of satisfaction which Dr. Weigand and his staff have received from their clients has made their work all the more rewarding and worthwhile.
Dr. Weigand is a member of the Rancho Cucamonga Chamber of Commerce, the California Veterinary Medical Association and serves as the Secretary on the Board of the Inland Valley Emergency Pet Clinic in Upland. In his leisure time he enjoys playing golf, exercising and snow skiing.
Dr. Weigand and his wife Liz and their two daughters, Madison and Brooke, share their home with their schnauzer, Riley, and a desert tortoise, Ord.
Dr. Liz Bernardini joined the staff of Terra Vista Animal Hospital as an Associate Veterinarian in March 2011. Born and raised in rural Wisconsin, Dr. Bernardini attended Northwestern University in Chicago and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology in 1988. She then went on to receive her Master’s degree in Archeology from Arizona State University before attending the University of Wisconsin at Madison where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. She is also a Diplomat of The American Board of Veterinary Practitioners.
In her leisure time, Dr. Bernardini enjoys running, yoga, ice hockey and playing the piano. She also volunteers as a literacy and math tutor in her hometown of Redlands.
Dr. Meredith May grew up in the Chino Valley. She obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Animal Science from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. It was during this time she spent her summers working with Dr. Weigand at Terra Vista Animal Hospital. Dr. May attended veterinary school at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Dr. May then pursued a private-practice small animal internship, which she completed in September 2012. This internship allowed her to gain invaluable experience in the management of critical emergency cases as well as the opportunity to work with Board certified internists, surgeons and emergency medicine specialists.
Dr. May enjoys spending her free time hiking, swimming and traveling with her yellow Labrador, Elly, and her Terrier mix, Daisy. She enjoys running, reading, cooking, snowboarding and playing the piano.
