VCA Brighton Animal Hospital is a full service animal hospital, certified by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). We treat both cats and dogs in Brighton, South Lyon and Howell. A 1978 graduate of Michigan State University, Dr. Aubry joined VCA Brighton Animal Hospital in 1981. His expertise helps fulfill each pet's unique dentistry needs. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing and is an avid fan of Michigan State University Spartan football and basketball.read more
Dr. Bruin graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. He is passionate about patient care and client education and enjoys meeting the surgical needs of his patients. Dr. Bruin lives with his wife Amanda and their cat Tux. Dr. Balavitch graduated from Michigan State University in 1993. She first joined VCA Brighton for occasional relief assignments in 2004, and then came on as a permanent doctor in 2007. She has a special interest in behavior medicine, dental healthcare, and caring for pets who are considered family members.read more
Dr. Lautenschlager graduated from Ludwig-Maximillian University (Munich, Germany) in 1999. After graduation, she started as a food animal doctor in Bavaria. When her husband was transferred to the United States in 2000, she accompanied him and the two began a new life in Michigan. She finished her doctoral degree in Munich in 2001, and continued to perform relief work in Germany.
She became licensed as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) through the Education Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates program. She currently works part-time for Brighton Animal Hospital, primarily performing surgery. Her passion for search and rescue dogs inspired her to serve as a K9 handler for her disaster dog, Senta. Dr. Lautenschlager lives with her husband and 3 teenage boys on a small farm with 2 horses, 3 goats, a pony, multiple chickens, and many other animals.
Dr. Lee is a graduate of Michigan State University and has been with Brighton Animal Hospital since 1986. She served the Livingston County Veterinary Medical Association for 15 years, in multiple capacities. Dr. Lee is passionate about internal medicine, and enjoys opera and Tiger baseball outside of work. She has a cat named Meijer, who was found as a stray kitten in the Meijer parking lot.read more
