Description

VCA Franklin Park Animal Hospital is a full-service hospital, offering advanced surgery, dental care (complete with dental radiography), full diagnostic and laboratory capability, a spacious boarding facility, and cat and dog grooming. We are one of the few facilities in the area that sees exotics and avians. We are open seven days a week and, for your convenience, are a walk-in hospital, although surgery and grooming are by appointment. Our veterinarians are committed to your pet's health and our team of professionals are well trained in all aspects of veterinary medicine.

Colleen Pagor
Colleen Pagor

Medical Director
DVM, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Dr. Pagor grew up in the northwest suburbs. After graduation from Palatine High School she attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for undergraduate studies in business and animal science. She stayed on at the U of I for veterinary school and graduated with honors in 1994. Upon graduation she completed an additional year of training as a surgical intern at a busy specialty hospital. Dr. Pagor joined VCA in 1996 as an associate veterinarian with a special interest in surgery. She spent a one year fellowship at Purdue University in the oncology department in 1999 and returned to VCA in 2000. As of December 2003, Dr. Pagor has been the Medical Director at VCA Franklin Park Animal Hospital. Her passion is surgery and she performs many advanced surgical procedures including orthopedics and soft tissue. When not working Dr. Pagor enjoys spending time with her family. She is the proud parent of 2 wonderful children and pet parent to two dogs, two cats, two guinea pigs, and a bearded dragon.

Richard Biss

Associate Veterinarian
DVM, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Dr. Biss has been a veterinarian at VCA Franklin Park since 1983. He sees not only cats and dogs, but avians, reptiles, and pocket pets. Dr. Biss enjoys dermatology, but still gets excited to see new puppies and kittens. Dr. Biss is married and has 2 daughters. They have 4 birds - 2 parakeets and 2 love birds. Dr. Biss is an avid bird watcher and goes on yearly bird counts.

Trisha McAfee

Associate Veterinarian
DVM, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Dr. McAfee grew up with a father who was a member of the United States Air Force and moved around several times as a child. She spent most of her teen years in southern Illinois near St. Louis, were her parents still live. Dr. McAfee went to Eastern Illinois University and graduated in 2000 with a bachelors degree in zoology and chemistry. She went to the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2005. She completed an internship in small animal surgery and medicine at VCA Aurora and Berwyn and has stayed with the VCA family ever since. Dr. McAfee grew up owning dogs but currently has 2 cats. She also enjoys working with exotic animals and volunteers at the Willowbrook Wildlife Center.
