Dr. Appleton
Dr. Appleton

Dr. Appleton, a general practitioner, is not actually a native of California. Born and raised in Lexington, Nebraska, he spent all of his education east of the Rockies. A Dean's list, Biology major at both the University of Nebraska and Colorado State University, Dr. Appleton went on to earn his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University in 1979. It is no surprise that he was voted the Most Client Oriented as a senior veterinary student. A member of AVMA and AAHA, Dr. Appleton's professional interest lies with reproduction in addition to providing outstanding care to all of his patients.

When not at the hospital, Dr. Appleton is a proud member of the "Bear Backers", a high school athletic support organization. Dr. Appleton and his wife Chris have four children. While they are either graduated from college or currently attending school, the house is certainly not empty! Hoosier, a Golden Retriever, and Grey Kitty, are more than happy to take all the attention.

Dr. Pierce, a full-time veterinarian, has been with Mesa for most of his veterinary career. Originally from North Hollywood, he attended the University of California at Davis for both his undergraduate and his veterinary degree. After finishing his degree in Biological Sciences in 1988, Dr. Pierce continued on to earn his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. Dr. Pierce spends a lot of his free time working with parent's organizations. Serving as president of the PTA and a member of the School Site Council, he also spent four years serving as president of the parent booster club which transformed from a grassroots organiztion to a fully accredited non-profit organization during his term. Dr. Pierce and his wife, an elementary school teacher, both enjoy cooking, though he also enjoys golfing, games, darts, boating, wine and home brewing. Their son, a basketball enthusiast and performer with a youth performance group, helps keep the Pierce family entertained. Merlin, a crow Dr. Pierce rescued in 1990, rounds out the busy household.
