Dr. Carolyn Scharer is a Washington native. She graduated from the University of Washington in 1989 with a BS in microbiology and molecular genetics. After working for 1 year at the University of Washington Medical School doing molecular genetic research, she attended the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine where she completed her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1994. She completed additional training in exotic animal medicine, small animal ultrasound, endoscopy and laparoscopy, small animal dentistry and small animal oncology.
Dr. Scharer has a special interest in Nordic dog breeds and sled dog medicine. She is a member of the Iditarod Sled Dog Veterinary staff, a member of the International Sled Dog Veterinary Medical Association and mushes with a team of 8 Alaskan Malamutes.

Dr. Salmon was born in Auburn, WA but predominantly grew up in the Spokane area. She graduated from the University of Washington in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. After spending time in the biotechnology field, she attended veterinary school at Washington State University graduating with honors in 2000. Dr. Salmon enjoys soft tissue surgery, preventative medicine, and parisitology.
In her spare time she raises 2 kids, 2 furry kids (Mimi the Jack Russel Terrier and Crabby the Cat), and enjoys reading and beach combing.
Dr. Truckenbrod is originally from the Midwest and went to veterinary school at Cornell University in Upstate New York. Her interests in the veterinary field include preventative health care, behavior and internal medicine.
In her spare time, Dr. Truckenbrod enjoys outdoor activities, such as running, hiking, and skiing, as well as travel, reading and cooking.
Dr. Eugene Rivers attended veterinary school at Washington State University. He has special interests in animal reporudction and oral health care. Dr. Rivers is an AKC judge and has been exhibiting and breeding English Springer Spaniels for many years. He is very active in local dog training activities and also in judging canine performance events. He also enjoys fly fishing.read more
