Dvm, Mississippi State University
Dr. Paula Engle is the Medical Director for Vca Wiles Road Animal Hospital.
As a young child in New Jersey, Dr. Engle liked to care for her friend's pets. She never waivered when deciding what to be - it was always a veterinarian. Her childhood dream became a reality in 1988 when, after completing her undergraduate studies, she attained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University. During her veterinary training, Dr. Engle received the Mississippi Veterinary Association Graduate Award for Excellence in Companion Animal Medicine and the Upjohn Award for Proficiency in Veterinary Clinical Medicine.
Shortly after graduation, Dr. Engle was chosen as a result of a massive selection process to participate in an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery in the San Francisco Bay area. Before relocating to South Florida to join the Vca Wiles Road Animal Hospital, she practiced veterinary medicine for three years in San Francisco. In addition to small animal medicine and surgery, Dr. Engle has a special interest in avian and exotic medicine.
Dr. Engle is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association and the Association of Avian Veterinarians, in her spare time enjoys swimming, exercising and sports.
Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine
California born and raised, Dr. Klein has been interested in marine and land animals for as long as he can remember. His dream of becoming a small animal veterinarian became more serious after working for three years at the local animal shelter in Santa Cruz, CA. He completed his undergraduate work in Marine Biology at the U.C. Santa Cruz campus and then realized his dream by graduating from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Looking to expand his knowledge in the veterinary field, Dr. Klein completed a joint internship with the Ambulatory Department at the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine and the local Champaign County Small Animal Shelter. His work experiences include treating a wide variety of animal species such as cattle, pigs, deer, sheep, goats, bison, dogs and cats.
Dr. Klein resides in Deerfield Beach, with his dog Calvin. He has a major interest in photography of nature and landscapes. In his free time he loves to participate in outdoor recreation, such as taking his dog to the beach, playing soccer and street hockey, and just taking in the wonderful south Florida weather.
